Bethany J. Powell, ENV SP

Chairman and President

Bethany is Chairman and President of Powell CWM.  She was elected Chairman of the Board in 2017, and has served as President since acquiring CWM, Inc. in September of 2016.  Bethany was a founding member of Powell and Associates and served as the Managing Member from 2005 to 2016. 

Bethany leads the firm’s workforce of professionals, drives the long-range strategy and builds new markets and capabilities.  With her strategic insight, direction and supportive leadership Powell has seen significant growth, stability and increased profitability. 

As the leader of Powell CWM, she understands the importance of building an environment that revolves around; diversity, integrity, accountability, compassion, humility, simplicity and a focus on success. She has created a vibrant company culture where ideas can blossom, people can thrive and success can flourish. 

In addition to her roles as Chairman and President, Bethany serves as the principal-in-charge on numerous projects and is responsible for committing the firm’s resources, driving innovative solutions, and supervising quality and timeliness of project delivery.  Bethany also oversees contract administration, project management and provides support and expertise in sustainable design solutions.

Bethany is passionate about equal opportunities for women. Because of the gender gap in the engineering, architecture and land surveying fields, she actively seeks to create a level playing field for women in these professions. Bethany is a member of the Kansas City Chapter of Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE) and enjoys attending the networking events to help raise awareness and support for local women-owned businesses.

Jeremy M. Powell, PMP, PLS, CFedS, ENV SP

Vice President

Jeremy is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and in 2011 he received his Certified Federal Surveyors (CFedS) certification from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.  The CFedS program, which has been approved by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, was designed specifically to enhance the level of knowledge and expertise in the professional land surveying community for cadastral survey work performed on federal lands and on Indian trust lands. 

Jeremy is adept at being responsive and sensitive to stakeholders, focusing intently on meeting budgetary and schedule requirements.  He uses his expert interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with clients, stakeholders and staff. 

He has managed several large, multi-year projects consisting of geospatial data collection, photogrammetry, utility mapping, right-of-way retracements, land acquisition documentation, construction surveying services, land development, planning, and entitlement services.
